Off-grid solar systems

Panels, an inverter and a lithium battery that carry your whole day and night, so dumsor and ECG bills stop being your problem.

What off-grid means

An off-grid system supplies everything you use from the sun. During the day the panels run your appliances and charge the battery; after dark the battery takes over. If you are still connected to ECG, the grid becomes a backup you rarely need.

Who it suits

  • Homes and businesses where power cuts are frequent or long.
  • Places with weak or no grid connection, including farms and rural communities.
  • Anyone tired of buying fuel for a generator.

How we size it

We start from your appliances and how many hours each runs, split into day and night use. The panels are sized to cover the whole day's energy and fully recharge the battery within about five peak sun hours, allowing for real-world losses. The battery covers your night-time use with headroom, and the inverter is sized for the surge that motors, fridges, pumps and ACs draw when they start. The calculator does all of this for you in seconds.

What is included

  • An inverter that switches over automatically, so you never notice a power cut.
