Hybrid solar systems
Solar carries most of your use, the grid tops up, and the battery keeps you going through power cuts. Lower upfront cost than full off-grid.
How hybrid works
A hybrid system uses a hybrid inverter that blends three sources: solar panels, a lithium battery and the ECG grid. Solar comes first, the battery covers evenings and outages, and the grid fills any gap. You choose how much solar should carry; we commonly design for 70% or 50% of your daily energy.
Why choose hybrid
- Lower upfront cost. A smaller array and battery than full off-grid for the same home.
- Still dumsor-proof. When the grid goes off, the battery takes over automatically.
- Room to grow. Start at 50% and add panels and batteries later to move towards full solar.
Hybrid or off-grid?
If power cuts in your area are long or frequent, or you want the lowest running cost, go off-grid. If the grid is mostly reliable and you want to cut bills and cover outages for less money upfront, hybrid is a good fit. The calculator lets you switch between full solar, 70% and 50% and see the system and price change.
What we install
Solar panels, a hybrid inverter, lithium (LiFePO4) batteries, and the cabling and protection to tie them safely into your existing wiring, installed by our Energy Commission licensed team with a 5-year system warranty.
